John Kerry Evening News Update

As Representative Richard A. Gephardt of Missouri tries to boost his presidential campaign in Iowa with the support of local labor unions, Senator John F. Kerry will strike back this week with a hometown weapon: Representative Stephen F. Lynch, Democrat of South Boston.

The former ironworker and labor lawyer will seek to aid Kerry's presidential bid by appearing Saturday and Sunday at several Iowa labor events. On Saturday, they include a United Auto Workers picnic in Marshalltown. On Sunday, Lynch will campaign for Kerry at a Scott County labor picnic. Read it!

Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry has made his first-ever trip to a factory hog farm.

At the farm near Klemme in northern Iowa, he announced Tuesday a plan to protect rural America from the impact of corporate farming. Pig out and read here!
