Kerry's Email Brings In Contributions for USO

From US News:

High-tech Bob Hope

When we last heard from Sen. John Kerry , he was asking his 2.7 million Web-page subscribers to donate to the USO's program for troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. We learn that the USO raised more at one time than ever before, and it credits 42 percent of the contributions to Kerry's E-mail. That's $646,940, if you're counting.

I'm thrilled by this news! I sent off my contribution immediately upon receipt of the e-mail and forwarded it to as many people as I could think of who might also want to contribute. I'm always happy to support our troops but this was even better because the request came from John Kerry. George W. may have won a second term, but the leader I'll follow is now and will always be Senator Kerry.

He's my leader too! I wrote a post this morning on the subject: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=273x4820

It's about more than who is president, isn't it?

I am so happy to hear this! I had been thinking of donating for phone cards anyway, but when Kerry's email arrived it was two-birds-with-one-stone. I intend to take advantage of every opportunity to show how strongly I still back him.
