Somebody Has To Do What the President Should
George Bush hasn't attended the funerals of any soldiers killed in the war he lied us into. Hell, he even tries to hide the coffins. If Bush won't acknowledge the sacrifices of those who died, somebody has to do it--sombody who is more qualifed to be President for many reasons.

U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Dimitrios Gavriel's military funeral was at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington DC, December 2, 2004.
Gavriel, from Haverhill, Massachusetts died November 19 while fighting in Al Anbar Province in Iraq and his funeral is the 99th 'Operation Iraqi Freedom' funeral at Arlington National Cemetery.
Both John Kerry and Ted Kennedy attended his funeral.
My first instinct when I saw the photos of JK and Ted Kennedy yesterday was this is what our pResident should be doing. Yet, as Ron states here, he DOES NOT.
A conservative board has the following comment to a link to this post:
Did President Roosevelt attend any of the funerals of soldiers killed during his administration...did President Truman. How about President Kennedy or Lyndon Johnson or Jimmy Carter. Has any previous President ever attended the funerals of soldiers killed during their watch?????
Why do you hold President Bush to a standard that you hold no other President???
THE HYPOCRISY OF THE LEFT IS APPALLING.

The answer is, yes, most Democratic presidents for whom there is data available have. No hypocrisy here.
Doing a quick on line search I have not yet come up with information for Kennedy or Truman. Johnson, and Clinton all have attended funerals for soldiers who died on their watch.
On the GOP side, Nixon, Bush Sr. and the current President Bush have not attended funerals. Ronald Reagan, a man who I bet would have rejoined the Democrats if he was capable of seeing what the Republicans have degnerated into in the years since he left office, also did.
A line got messed up in the posting above. Add Carter to the list of Democratic presidents who attended funerals.
Another correction. It looks like that board isn't really a conservative board, just a thread from conservatives. I'm not sure exactly what that site is.
