Miers Linked To At Least Two Bush Scandles

Potentially the Miers nomination could result in more publicity for two of the scandles surrouding George Bush, including a cover up of an old one. We’ve already noted how Miers presented Bush with the PDB which warned about Bin Laden’s plans to attack prior to 9/11. Maybe she could provide some insight as to why Bush ignored these warnings.

Now we find that Miers might have been involved in a cover up of Bush’s evasion of his National Guard service. The Austin American-Statesman reports that, “A former Texas lottery official, who claimed that then-Gov. George W. Bush’s desire to cover up his National Guard record helped steer decisions about a key lottery contract, said he wants to talk to senators about Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers’ possible role in that effort.”
