People in the west have a reputation for voting Republican because they believe this way they are more free of government. Sometimes this backfires. NPR’s Morning Edition

. Builders pushed through laws which prevent counties from regulating certain types of housing developments, and the title gives away what happened to the poor people who purchased homes. I bet these people would be more open to considering a littles more government regulation, and to throwing out elected officials who are in the pockets of dishonest business interests.
