Those Who Fought The Terrorists on 9/11

On September 11, following the terrorist attacks, George Bush was busy reading My Pet Goat, and then took 48 hours to show any semblance of being in control . Who ever was making decisions quickly decided to use the attacks for partisan gain, as well as to push through preexisting neoconservative foreign policy goals and conservative views on restricting civil liberties.

While the White House cared more about politics than national security, there was one group on September 11 which responded immediately by fighting the terrorists. This was the passengers on Flight 93. Discovery Channel will be showing a recreation of the hijacking on the fourth anniversary of September 11. AP reports that, "The program will be called 'The Flight That Fought Back' and will include about 45 minutes of re-created scenes depicting what happened before the plane crashed in a Southwestern Pennsylvania field. Forty passengers and crew members were killed."

Ron, I'm not sure if this blog or LUTD will carry it, but make sure you guys get Kerry's formal call for congressional hearings into Plamegate up. The latest email says he plans on calling for them this week.

Todd,

I've been waiting to see if more information comes out on this. I figure that most people who come here or LUTD regularly are already on Kerry's email list and received the email, so I don't usually rush to post those emails.

If there is no further information I'll post the email or say something later today just to make sure it is on line for those who might not be on the email list.

Ron,

Sounds good. I usually get the emails and post the most relevent ones on my blog, but there have been many I never received that I only read on LUTD.

Darn technology...I guess managing a 3 million email database isn't as easy as it sounds.

Todd,

As you can see, I ultimately did post the email, considering the plans to call for a Congressional investigation newsworthy. The wire services have picked up the story, but don't have anything more to say than is in the email.

Next week we'll see certain portions of the blogosphere bashing Kerry because he hasn't gotten Rove fired yet.
