Hi Marcus

Glad you found us here. I think there is definately a movement to audit those voting machines in Ohio and Florida... and other states where the margin was slim, like Nevada & New Mexico!

THe question is how much of an audit is even possible with these machines. I'm not going to say the election was stolen using them, but it is important in a democracy to have election results accepted as legitimate. It is necessary to be able to demonstrate that the numbers coming out of the electronic machines are real.

The problem is that there is just no way to know. I think it could come off as paranoid if Democrats claim the election was stolen without hard evidence. I think we have a better shot with a more reasonable sounding argument that we simply must be able to demonstrate the validity of elections for the future.

I don't recall Indy being here, but quite a few of the old bloggers have posted here. I'm hoping we can keep the atmosphere of the old blog going, obviously at a reduced pitch as compared to before the election.

There are a lot of discussion groups springing up, but there was something special about the blog. It was more like the neighborhood pub, where everyone could tell everyone else if something big has suddenly come up on TV or the web.

I hear Indy is active on the chat. I like the blog as a middle ground between chats and more structured forums. Like the chat, a blog post is going out to all, not just people who decide to read a specific topic. Blog discussions give more flexibility than a chat. You can check back periodically, catch up on recent comments, and add your thoughts. You don't have to sit and watch all messages go by to keep up.

Whether Kerry can run again deapends a lot on what happens in the next few years, both depending upon what he does and how the last election is viewed.

This is one of several topics I've been thinking of writing as main blog posts since Tuesday so I'll hold off until I can get that done to discuss complete what I mean above.

Hi Heather,

I can't post over at Kos, because I never had an account there. I did just sign up for one, but it takes 24 hours to activate.

Perhaps somewhere who does have an account can post our link there. Although I have had a link to Kos in my blogroll since this blog was started (June '03), Kos has never linked back. The Unofficial Kerry Blog was the first Kerry Blog.

I hope that Kerry Bloggers who are wishing to remain in touch will continue to remain active here and also utilize the Kerry Reference Library:

http://kerrylibrary.forumflash.com/index.php?act=idx

In the coming days we hope to have word from Dick Bell about how Bloggers who wish to keep in touch and remain active can continue to work together. There are discussions about this in the works!

Indy and a few other Bloggers are over at the chat.

Although I enjoy the chat, I find it hard to make progress coalescing a plan for the future, as there is no way to retain the conversation there, once it flies on by.

So please spread the word to others via email, other blogs and forums, etc that we are still here and commited to the fight!

Thanks Ron!

While I get that Kos's 24 hour thing helps cut down on Trolls it makes it hard for people right now looking to connect with other Kerry Bloggers.

I never joined Kos in the past because of the 24 hour thing and well... I think you understand Ron ;)

I wonder if there are people who have now heard of Kerry supporters getting together but haven't been able to post. Having the link to here, they can come and post immediately.

If you do join today, you would be able to post tomorrow if there is discussion of interest there.

It might just be the diaries which have the 24 hour rule.

I posted there ocassionally before the primaries, but stopped when it seemed very pro-Dean and anti-Kerry there. I figure there is no reason any longer to worry about that divide.

I fear the divide won't go away in some regards... it something the Dems are famous for unfortunately.

Although JK helped to unify the party in so many ways many still never got it.

The divides won't entirely go away, and most likely they will be replaced by different divides in the future.

There is one thing which might also keep Democrats together more than in the past--as well as keep the support of people like me without past party ties. More than any time in the past, we now have a ruling party and an opposition party.

The Democrats are the only game if someone wants to mount an opposition to Bush. That will unite us. On the other hand, while there is only one way to support the status quo, there are many ways to change, and different Democrats might pull in different directions. My hope is that Democrats remain united enough to block Bush where necessary.

I hope so too, Ron.

Now more than ever we need to stick together and obviously broaden our base!

It's so special to have our own troll!

Blogger Ron Chusid said...

The trolls wouldn't be so bad if they really said something meaningful on their point of view. Insead they just throw meaningless insults.

This one had some nonsense about getting a job, failing to see the trend towards higher earning people supporting the Democrats while more working people are backing the Republicans. Of course that has a lot to do with education and intelligence.

Hell, I bet my federal income taxes are twice what the idiot troll earns in a year. Maybe he also lives in a red state and is a parasite living off my tax money. Have you seen the charts put up on various web sites recently showing the amount of money paid by us tax payers in blue states which winds up going to the red states?

ROn

I have not seen those charts. Have you got a link?

The latest blog entry shows this. Clicking directly on the map gives a pdf file with more details.

Hi Donna from MA

Glad you found us here. All the votes are being counted. All the reports of fraud are being investigated. Tell your friend who sent the email that JK did not pull a Gore. Have faith...
