Dems Collect $2 Million from Illinoisans
Democratic presidential candidates have collected about two million dollars from individual Illinois donors for the 2004 campaign.
That's according to a Federal Election Commission analysis of contributions through last month.
With slightly more than $600,000, North Carolina Senator John Edwards leads the pack. Many of Illinois' best-known trial attorneys helped the former trial attorney.
Massachusetts Senator John Kerry follows with just over $523,000.
Missouri Congressman Dick Gephardt had about $350,000.
And Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut received about $255,000.
Illinois donors gave about $117,000 to former Vermont Governor Howard Dean.
And former Illinois Senator Carol Moseley Braun has gotten about $93,000.
