Kerry is Focused on Working People

Senator Kerry met with a group of Democrats in Burlington, Iowa yesterday and discussed the tough situation working people face today in the United States. He talked and listened to people's stories about what's happening. He talked about the "misleadership" of George W. Bush.

“On the issue of jobs, and on so many other issues, the problem is not just the wrong direction in which George Bush has led; it is that he has mis-led us time and time again. He says one thing and does another, and Iowans and all Americans are paying the price.”

“President Bush has told us that his economic program came down to one word jobs. Since he said that we have lost three quarters of a million jobs. We are suffering from a jobs gap because George Bush has not been straight with the American people.

“I am running for President to put jobs back at the top of our national agenda.
People are looking to do an honest day’s job and they are looking for a President who will be honest with them when it comes to jobs. I’m running for President to put Americans back to work, and put America back on track.”

Iowa has been hit hard by job loss, 15,000 jobs have gone elsewhere in the state since Bush took office. That isn't necessarily all Bush's fault, but what is he doing about it?
