Bush Falls Further; Democrats Rise in Latest Polls

Bush has hit yet a new low, with Pew Research Center showing his approval down to 33%, falling even below his 34% approval in two consecutive CBS polls. His approval has fallen from 47% to 26% among independents this year, and even his approval among Republicans has fallen from 89% to 73% since January.

The latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll shows the Democratic Party leading the Republican Party 55% to 39% among registered voters in the generic Congressional ballot, representing their largest lead in a midterm election since 1982. This also represents a two point gain for the Democrats since the February poll.
